Leftovers Necklace
Because I have a huge-ass craft supply hoarding problem, I have a standing challenge for myself to make as much as possible using stuff I already have in the house. I met my challenge with this necklace which was composed of some leftover glass seed beads, pearls remaining from a necklace I made for Grammy, some Swarovski crystals I bought at the Bead and Button show last year for no particular purpose, and some findings and chain that were sitting in a box, ready for action.

The idea for this one came from a picture of a bracelet on one of those blasted magazine renewal postcards. It’s been in my pile o’ inspiration for a long time because I loved the idea of the modular curved pieces. Determined to give it a shot, I studied the picture and figured out how to stitch the curves. Then I decided which beads I wanted to use and decided how these pieces would fit together in a necklace. It didn’t take long to make once I got started.
Three cheers for finishing a project without buying more stuff!

what loveliness! so inspiration can come from even a lowly magazine renewal card. you really keep your eyes open.
